BuildBoulder is a free community service created by Matt Benjamin, a Boulder City Council member, to help residents, homeowners, builders, and architects understand zoning and land use in Boulder. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you submit an address analysis request, we collect:
That's it. We don't use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools. We don't collect browsing data. There are no ads.
Your information is used for one purpose: to generate and deliver your address analysis. Specifically:
We believe in transparency about how this service works. BuildBoulder uses artificial intelligence tools to assist in generating address analyses. This includes:
AI assists the process — it doesn't run it alone. Matt Benjamin oversees the service, reviews outputs, and ensures analyses are grounded in real code and plan language. If something doesn't look right in your report, tell us and we'll fix it.
Your personal information (name, email) is not used to train any AI models. It is used only to deliver your analysis.
We do not share, sell, or provide your information to:
We retain your submission data for up to 90 days after delivering your analysis. This allows us to follow up if you have questions and to improve the quality of future analyses. After 90 days, your submission data is deleted.
You can request deletion of your data at any time — just email us and we'll remove it promptly.

BuildBoulder provides informational analysis based on publicly available zoning data and planning documents. It is not legal advice, and it does not represent an official position of the City of Boulder or the Boulder City Council.
